Stories resonate

Storytelling and emotions

“Isn't that too much of an Insta thing for LinkedIn?”
That's what I asked myself before writing my last LinkedIn post about the Robbie Williams concert.

In my post, I shared the story behind the song “I love my life” and how it makes me feel.
But who wants to read about song lyrics, goosebump moments at concerts, and joie de vivre on LinkedIn? It's a business network, after all.

And then I received your responses. Not just from fans. Not just likes or comments, but also many personal messages.
You gifted me with stories.

About songs that carried you through difficult times. About what joie de vivre means to you. About wonderful moments that still resonate.
That touched me deeply.

And it showed me: For me, it's not about whether a post is “LinkedIn-friendly.” For me, it's about whether it triggers something in others.

And that's exactly what song lyrics and stories do. Emotional content is processed more deeply and stays in our memory longer than pure facts.

And when we listen to a story, our brain waves synchronize with those of the person telling it. We feel connected. And this resonance strengthens our mental health, by the way. Maybe that's why some posts – like some songs – linger in our minds.
Not because they are perfectly worded, but because they make us feel something. Because they create a resonance within us that goes beyond the moment.

That's why LinkedIn isn't just a place for business topics for me. It's a place for humanity. For emotions and vulnerability. For stories that connect us.
Thank you for your wonderful feedback and personal stories.
They were the most beautiful response to a post that I almost didn't publish.
